While the girder has crossed the canyon, the bridge likely will not be opened until October .
"It's a loose timetable," Cruz said. "I couldn't tell you (it will be done by) the second, third, fourth week of October yet. … It may not met the Sept. 30 date, but I don't have a date yet."
